Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed sympathy for victims of the flooding affecting parts of the country, urging citizens to comply with emergency directives and support ongoing response efforts.

In a Facebook post on Monday, June 29, 2026, Dr Bawumia said his thoughts and prayers were with thousands of people impacted by the floods, which have displaced residents and caused damage to property.

“This morning, my thoughts and prayers are with the thousands of our people affected by the floods,” he said. “My deepest sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones, properties, and those who have been forced out of their homes.”

He called on the public to cooperate with authorities as emergency operations continue across affected areas.

“I urge citizens to comply with all directives issued by the Government and to cooperate fully with institutions mandated to address the situation,” he stated.

Dr Bawumia also appealed to emergency services and relevant state agencies to intensify their response efforts to reach affected communities.

“I also urge the emergency services and all relevant authorities to do everything possible to reach those in need and assist them,” he said.

He added that national unity and mutual care were essential in navigating the crisis.

“We will get through this difficult time by caring for one another,” he said.

Dr Bawumia concluded with a message of national hope, saying: “May God bless our homeland Ghana.”
