One person has been confirmed dead while another is receiving treatment following a suspected armed robbery attack on a mobile money (MoMo) vendor at the Gomoa Dominase Onion Market in the Central Region.
The injured vendor is currently on admission at the Gomoa Potsin Polyclinic, while a customer who sustained severe gunshot wounds was pronounced dead after being rushed to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.
The incident occurred around 8:00pm on Saturday, June 6, when four armed men reportedly stormed the MoMo vending point and opened fire on victims before making away with an unspecified amount of money.
Another victim who also sustained gunshot injuries has been referred to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for further treatment.
The attack has left traders and residents in shock and panic as police begin investigations into the incident.
