Heavy rainfall has triggered widespread flooding in Samreboi in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region, leaving sections of the community submerged and residents displaced.
The downpour caused the Samre River to burst its banks, sending floodwaters into residential areas, farmlands, and access roads, and forcing many households to evacuate or seek safety on higher ground.
Aerial images from the affected area show extensive inundation, with buildings partially submerged and large stretches of land cut off by rising water levels.
Residents say the situation has worsened since the rains began, with continuous inflows from the swollen river making recovery efforts difficult. Many families are reportedly struggling to protect their homes and retrieve essential belongings.
With conditions still unstable, residents are calling on authorities and emergency agencies to intervene urgently by supporting evacuation efforts, providing relief supplies, and implementing long-term flood control measures to prevent future occurrences.
