Residents and guests at the Longji International Hotel at Efuanta in Tarkwa were forced to wade through floodwaters after a heavy downpour submerged sections of the hotel and its surrounding areas.

Videos circulating on social media show foreign nationals and local residents struggling through knee deep water as torrential rains inundated parts of the facility, disrupting normal activities and raising concerns about drainage challenges in the area.

The flooding, which followed hours of intense rainfall, left portions of the hotel premises waterlogged, with guests seen navigating flooded corridors and walkways to access safer areas.

The incident has reignited concerns over the increasing vulnerability of some parts of Tarkwa to flooding during the rainy season, with residents calling for urgent measures to improve drainage infrastructure and prevent a recurrence.

No casualties or injuries have been reported. However, the extent of damage to property within the hotel is yet to be officially assessed.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the flooding as residents continue to appeal for long-term solutions to the perennial problem.
