Close to 900 female students of the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) have been displaced following a massive fire outbreak that gutted the school’s girls’ dormitory on Wednesday afternoon.

The dormitory, which houses students from four houses—Aggrey, Arthur, Ali, and Gbewaa—was completely razed by the blaze.

Students who were in class at the time rushed back to the facility in an attempt to salvage their belongings.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service battled the inferno for several hours before bringing it under control.

Although no casualties were recorded, the fire destroyed beds, mattresses, books, uniforms, and other personal effects, leaving many of the affected students distressed and without accommodation.
