Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has named former Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, and former First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei-Owusu, to lead his campaign for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Chairmanship, as the party prepares for internal elections.

The announcement, made at a meeting with campaign volunteers, signals what Agyarko’s team describes as a strategy to build a strong political base ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Quartey will serve as Campaign Manager, while Osei-Owusu, widely known as Joe Wise, takes on the role of Senior Campaign Advisor.

Agyarko said the appointments reflect his intention to run a grassroots-focused campaign anchored on experience and internal party knowledge.

“These appointments demonstrate our commitment to building a formidable campaign grounded in grassroots mobilisation and strategic leadership,” the campaign said in a statement signed by spokesperson Vincent Frimpong Manu.

Both Quartey and Osei-Owusu are seasoned figures within the party, with backgrounds spanning executive roles, parliamentary leadership, and constituency-level politics.

Their inclusion, the campaign noted, is expected to strengthen Agyarko’s bid by leveraging their “track record of grassroots mobilization, sharp political acumen, and significant national influence.”

The two appointees also expressed confidence in Agyarko’s vision for the party.

“We fully share his vision to rebuild, restructure, and rebrand the New Patriotic Party for victory in 2028,” the statement said.

Agyarko’s campaign team added that a full list of national campaign officials, including experts in strategy, communications, and operations, will be announced in the coming weeks.
