Firefighters from the Aburi and Akropong Fire Stations have contained a fire outbreak at Adonten Senior High School(SHS), preventing the blaze from spreading beyond the school’s science block.
According to a Facebook post on Saturday, July 4, the fire caused significant damage, destroying the House Master’s office, a storeroom and several educational and administrative items.
“The fire destroyed the House Master’s office, storeroom, and several school items, including office equipment, books, uniforms and electronic devices, while firefighters successfully salvaged library books and gardening tools,” the statement said.

The Ghana National Fire Service said the swift and coordinated response by firefighters prevented the blaze from extending to other critical sections of the school, limiting the extent of the damage.
Before firefighters arrived, staff and students reportedly attempted to contain the fire but were unable to bring it under control. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
Authorities have commenced investigations to determine the cause of the fire as efforts continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
