The Member of Parliament for the Nabdam Constituency Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane, has donated books, mathematical sets and a cash donation of GHC6, 200.00 towards preparation of candidates in the area for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) slated for June 2018.

He said the support demonstrates his commitment towards ensuring that Nabdam students are supported at every stage of the educational ladder to realize their potentials.

The donation included eight hundred exercise books and mathematical sets, two sets of jerseys and one football.

The cash donation was for the typing and purchase of examination materials for the conduct of mock examination for the candidates prior to the BECE.

Dr. Nawaane was hopeful that the support given the District Education Directorate will aid them prepare the candidates adequately to help them pass out with flying colours.

He has also renovated the district information office which was idle for years for immediate use as the district education office.

Talensi District Director of Education, Stephanie Mosore, lauded Dr. Nawaane for the support towards education in the area, and pledged to put the resources to good use for improved results in this year’s BECE in the area.

She commended the MP for getting them a better structure as the district’s education office, adding that, it will increase their productivity since they will now be working in a conducive office as opposed to the deplorable structure they once occupied.

Dr. Nawaane pledged to commit more resources to provide boreholes, schools, health facilities among others.

He hinted that plans are far advanced to get the district with a befitting district hospital.

This he said, when materialized, will bring relief to patients who have to commute to Bolgatanga for health care services.
