Founded in 2004 by Bishop Gideon and Lady Olivia Titi-Ofei, the institution began as the African Centre for Leadership and Human Resource Development (AFRILEAD). Over the years, it evolved into the Graduate School of Governance and Leadership, then Accra Business School, before rebranding as the University of Gold Coast.
