Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, says recommendations to enhance security at Ridge Hospital have already begun and will continue immediately.

The committee tasked with investigating the alleged assault at Ridge Hospital, as part of its recommendations, urged the Health Ministry to increase the number of security personnel on duty in the emergency ward of Ridge Hospital to prevent future assaults.

During a media briefing after receiving the report, in Accra on Wednesday, August 27, the Health Minister confirmed that steps had already been taken and more measures would be put in place to bolster security in the emergency department at Ridge Hospital.

“From here, I am just going to give instructions for some of these things to be done. In fact, the truth of the matter is that the very day we visited the hospital, I gave that instruction that they should look at the internal security, and I had the opportunity to also speak to the police; some of these things have already started and they are in motion.”
