Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) is set to celebrate its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of spiritual transformation, leadership development, and global expansion since its founding in 1985.
The milestone event, which also forms part of this year’s Wonderful Jesus Campaign, will be held at the Independence Square in Accra on Friday, October 31, and Sunday, November 2, 2025, under the theme “40 Years of Raising the Foundations of Many Generations.”
Founded by Bishop N. A. Tackie-Yarboi, Victory Bible Church International has grown from a small fellowship in Accra into a global network with over 500 branches across Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia, boasting a membership of more than 100,000 worldwide.
Over the years, VBCI has become known for its blend of spiritual leadership and humanitarian work. The church has supported education through scholarships for needy but brilliant students, assisted secondary school learners before the introduction of free SHS, and contributed to health care, including donations to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, VBCI distributed food supplies such as rice and oil to more than 2,000 households in Awoshie and surrounding communities, where its headquarters is located.
As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, the church will hold a series of events including:
A Corporate Thanksgiving Service to acknowledge God’s faithfulness and honour past and present leaders.
Community outreach programmes across Ghana and VBCI’s international branches to support education and health initiatives.
A Grand Anniversary Celebration at Independence Square featuring gospel music, worship, and prophetic declarations.
The premiere of a 10-minute documentary chronicling the church’s four-decade journey and global impact.
Reflecting on the milestone, Bishop Tackie-Yarboi expressed gratitude to God and the church community, saying:
“For forty years, God has been faithful to Victory Bible Church International. From humble beginnings, He has raised us to be a beacon of transformation and strength for many generations. This celebration is not just about our past; it’s about rekindling the vision for a greater future.”
He emphasised the church’s commitment to empowering members beyond spirituality—encouraging entrepreneurship, business development, and participation in national leadership and policy-making.
Bishop Tackie-Yarboi also urged Christians to take active roles in shaping the nation’s political and social discourse, adding that moral leadership is vital for Ghana’s growth.
He invited all Ghanaians to join the church in celebrating its 40th anniversary and this year’s Wonderful Jesus Campaign at Independence Square.
