The Ghana Incentive-Based Risk-Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (GIRSAL), a key partner for the second edition of the Channel One AgriFair, has announced that its participation in the event is aimed at increasing public awareness of its services and deepening support for agribusiness financing.

GIRSAL, a non-banking financial institution, provides credit risk guarantees to banks and financial institutions to encourage increased lending to the agricultural sector.

The organisation also offers technical assistance, capacity building, and information resources to strengthen the ability of lenders to properly assess and manage agribusiness loans.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Afrifa said the AgriFair provides an ideal platform for GIRSAL to showcase its work.

“We agreed to support the AgriFair because we want people to know about GIRSAL. For some time now, we have realised that our services are not out there. Apart from that, we will bring all our investor banks so that people will get to know them,” he said.

Chief Operating Officer Samuel Yeboah added that the AgriFair’s value lies in its ability to bring together all actors across the agricultural value chain.

“The AgriFair platform will bring all stakeholders and value chain actors to one place. Producers will know who the buyers are, and the buyers will know who the producers are. The financial institutions will also be there. There will be knowledge sharing and information exchange so people understand what others are doing in the value chain and the support needed to offtake most of the produce grown in Ghana,” he explained.

The second edition of the AgriFair takes place from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.
