The 2026 edition of the annual Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival is underway at the Odweanoma Mountain, drawing patrons, vendors, and heightened security presence to the area.
About 50 people have registered to participate in the opening day of the paragliding event, which is being handled by four pilots — two from the United States, one from Peru, and one Ghanaian.
The festival, a major highlight of Easter celebrations in Ghana, is already creating economic activity in the area, with vendors setting up across the town to take advantage of the influx of visitors.
This year’s event also coincides with the second edition of the Kwahu Business Forum, spearheaded by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, aimed at promoting investment and economic opportunities.
Security has been significantly reinforced, with hundreds of police personnel deployed by the Inspector General of Police.
Officers are working alongside other security agencies to maintain order and manage traffic at key points across Kwahu.
