President John Dramani Mahama has joined global leaders in Libreville for the inaugural International Forum for Innovation and Development, a high-level gathering focused on accelerating growth through technology, investment and governance reforms.

This was announced by the Minister in Charge of Government Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The forum, held under the patronage of Gabon’s Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, is bringing together heads of state, policymakers, global investors and technology experts to discuss the theme “Political Stability, Business Climate, and Artificial Intelligence: Catalysts for Growth.”

Organisers say the event aims to position Gabon as a regional hub for innovation and a key destination for international investment.

The gathering also marks the inauguration of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre, a newly constructed facility expected to serve as a venue for major international engagements and dialogue on development issues.

Discussions at the forum are expected to culminate in the “Libreville Declaration,” outlining commitments by political leaders to strengthen governance, promote transparency and accelerate digital integration across Africa.

President Mahama, who has consistently advocated stronger collaboration between governments and the private sector, is expected to use the platform to push for partnerships that drive inclusive growth.

His participation underscores Ghana’s interest in leveraging innovation and strategic investment to expand economic opportunities and deepen development across the continent.
