The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred at Kwafokrom Goil Filling Station near Nsawam on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
The suspects have been identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei. Another suspect, identified only as Ashivie, is currently on the run and is being pursued by police for his alleged role in the robbery.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the police said exhibits retrieved from the suspects included an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass, and a bulletproof vest.
According to the police, the suspects shot a security guard and a pump attendant who had taken refuge in an office within the filling station during the robbery.
The statement added that the suspects made away with GH¢13,460.00 and assorted provisions whose value is yet to be determined.
Police further disclosed that a search at the scene led to the retrieval of 19 spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition. The victims are reported to be in stable condition.
The police assured the public that efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining accomplices to face prosecution.
Residents have also been urged to remain calm as police, in collaboration with filling station managers, have put in place enhanced security measures to prevent further incidents.
