Michael Oti Adjei, General Manager for Sports at Media General, believes Ghana’s chances of progressing in the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup will remain intact even if the Black Stars suffer defeat against England.

Speaking in an interview with Bernard Avle on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Monday, June 22, Oti Adjei said Ghana’s final group game against Croatia could still provide a pathway to the next stage.

“I hope Ghana doesn’t lose against England tomorrow [Tuesday, June 23], but if we lose, Ghana still goes into the game against Croatia with a big opportunity to reach the next stage,” he said.

According to him, the possibility of qualification regardless of the outcome against England could allow the Black Stars to approach the match with less pressure.

“For me, that is what will work to our advantage, because it allows us to play with a certain level of freedom,” he stated.

Oti Adjei urged the team to focus on delivering their best performance against England rather than viewing the match as decisive for their campaign.

“Tomorrow, show up against England, put in your best. The game against England will not define Ghana’s future in this tournament. It’s important,” he added.

Ghana is set to face England on Tuesday, June 23, before concluding its group-stage campaign against Croatia.
