The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West and Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the constituency through preventive health interventions and community outreach programmes.
Speaking after a free health screening exercise organized at Gomoa Eshiem to mark World Hypertension Day, Mr. Gyan-Mensah said the initiative was aimed at promoting early detection and management of hypertension and other health conditions among residents.
The exercise, which was organized by his office in collaboration with the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, provided a range of healthcare services including eye screening, dental care, blood pressure and blood glucose checks, diet consultation, plastic surgery screening, general medical consultation, and the distribution of free medication.
According to the Gomoa West legislator, more than 700 residents benefited from the exercise.
“Good health remains a critical component of national development. It is therefore important that we continue to create opportunities for our people to access quality healthcare and receive regular medical check-ups to detect health conditions early,” Mr. Gyan-Mensah stated.
He expressed appreciation to the medical teams from the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Gomoa Eshiem Health Centre and Gomoa Oguaa Health Centre for their professionalism and dedication throughout the exercise.
The Deputy Energy Minister also commended the District Chief Executive for Gomoa West, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, as well as ward coordinators and party executives for their support in ensuring the success of the programme.
Mr. Gyan-Mensah further urged residents to make their health a priority and maintain clean surroundings, particularly during the rainy season, to prevent the outbreak and spread of diseases.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the well-being of constituents and contribute to building a healthier Gomoa West.
