Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is expected to visit the scene of the collapsed building at Avenor in North Kaneshie, near Melcom Plus and opposite the Ashfoam showroom.

The three storey structure, reportedly a residential facility and a mosque, collapsed in the early hours of Sunday, June 7.

One person has reportedly died, while others have since been rescued from the debris.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service remain at the scene as rescue efforts continue amid fears that more victims may still be trapped beneath the rubble.

The Vice President’s visit is aimed at assessing the situation firsthand and receiving updates on the ongoing rescue operations.
