Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has been named the Best Performing Minister at the 6th edition of the Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours, an award scheme that recognises outstanding contributions by public officials to governance, public service delivery, and national development.

The ceremony brought together ministers of state, deputy ministers, chief executive officers of state institutions, metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives, as well as other key stakeholders in governance and public administration.

Dr. Forson was honoured for his leadership and performance in managing the country’s economic and fiscal affairs, earning the top recognition among ministers serving in the current administration.

Several other government officials were also recognised for their contributions in their respective sectors.

Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, was adjudged Best Regional Minister in recognition of her leadership and efforts in advancing development initiatives within the region.

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, received the award for Best Performing Male Minister, while Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, was honoured as Best Performing Female Minister.

Deputy Minister for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, was named Best Deputy Minister for her role in supporting the implementation of government policies and programmes in the transport sector.

In the category for heads of public institutions, the Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, received the Best CEO Award for his leadership and efforts to improve service delivery at the authority.

The Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, was also recognised for her outstanding performance and contribution to the operations and administration of the institution.

The Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours seeks to celebrate excellence, innovation, accountability and impactful leadership within the public sector while encouraging high standards of performance among government officials and public servants.

Organisers said the awards also serve as a platform to acknowledge individuals and institutions whose work continues to contribute significantly to national development and improved public service delivery.
