The Kingmakers and elders of the Dagbon Kingdom have endorsed and given their blessings to the 2026 Northern Business Fair, organised by Channel One TV and Citi FM, describing the initiative as an important platform for promoting the economic potential and investment opportunities in Northern Ghana.
The endorsement came during a courtesy call by a delegation from Channel One TV and Citi FM to the Gbewaa Palace ahead of the event.
Speaking to Citi News, Kuga Naa, Naa Abdulai Adam II, said that although the Dagbon Kingdom is currently observing a period of mourning following the passing of the Ya-Na, the Northern Business Fair remains a significant trade and investment event that will showcase the region’s rich economic potential to the rest of Ghana and the international community.
He noted that the fair aligns with Dagbon’s vision of promoting commerce, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, and therefore has the full blessings and support of the Kingmakers and elders of the Kingdom.
“I watch all your programs. I don’t think that if you have a program in the Northern Region, we have to ignore it, but now that we are mourning, that is our problem. We are mourning because our head is gone.
“If we don’t enlist the regent, we don’t want any noise at all in the Northern Region. If it is only an exhibition, I don’t think it’s a problem. We are okay. You can go ahead and then continue the work,” he said.
The 2026 Northern Business Fair is scheduled for July 25 and 26, 2026, at Jubilee Park in Tamale. The two-day exhibition will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day, transforming the venue into a vibrant commercial hub where businesses from across Northern Ghana and beyond will showcase their products, services, and innovations to thousands of prospective customers, investors, development partners, and business leaders.
The fair is expected to create valuable networking opportunities, attract investment, and strengthen the region’s position as an emerging centre for trade, commerce, and enterprise.
