Invest in Northern Ghana; the opportunities are here

The Northern Regional Minister, Ali Adolf John, has urged investors to explore the vast economic potential of the Northern Region, assuring them of the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Speaking at the opening of the 2026 Northern Business Fair in Tamale on Saturday, July 25, the Minister described the event as an important platform for attracting investment, promoting local enterprises and unlocking the region’s economic potential.

He commended Channel One TV and Citi FM for sustaining the initiative, saying the fair has become a catalyst for entrepreneurship by connecting businesses with new markets, investors and customers.

Ali Adolf John expressed confidence that this year’s edition would generate lasting business partnerships, expand market opportunities for exhibitors and contribute to economic growth across Northern Ghana.

He encouraged investors and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the opportunities available in sectors such as agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism and commerce, stressing that the Northern Region remains open and ready for investment.

“It is my hope that at the end of this fair, new partnerships will emerge, markets expanded, fruitful relationships built and increased investment opportunities that will benefit not only the Northern Region but Ghana as a whole,” he said.

“I wish to once again commend the organisers of this fair, Channel One TV/Citi FM, for this laudable initiative. Your commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and supporting businesses in Northern Ghana is very much appreciated,” he said.

Mr. Adolf John also praised exhibitors and entrepreneurs for their resilience and innovation, encouraging them to use the event to showcase their products, build networks and explore markets beyond the Northern Region.

The two-day fair, which ends on Sunday, July 26, is being held at Jubilee Park in Tamale from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. It has brought together businesses from across the country to exhibit products and services, forge partnerships and engage directly with thousands of potential customers.

Over the years, the Northern Business Fair has evolved beyond a traditional exhibition into a marketplace where businesses generate sales, build customer loyalty and identify new avenues for growth. The event also provides exhibitors with an opportunity to receive direct consumer feedback and strengthen their market presence.

The fair is powered by Channel One TV with support from Citi FM and is sponsored by Ecobank, the National Petroleum Authority, the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), and Northshore Apparel Ghana Ltd.
