G-Money Head wins Fintech Executive of the Year at 2025 Ghana Executive Awards

One of Ghana’s leading lights in the digital transformation space and Principal Lead of G- Money Financial Services (GMFS), the fintech subsidiary of GCB Bank, Ebo Richardson has been recognised as the Fintech Executive of the Year at the just-ended maiden edition of the Ghana Executive Awards, 2025.

In addition to his impressive transformation of G-Money, the award also recognizes and appreciates Ebo for his hard work, diligence and leadership within the finance and telecoms sectors during the last 15 years of service to God and country.

To the Awarding Board, this deserved honour is a testament to Ebo’s strong leadership qualities and exceptional dedication to delivering positive and impactful outcomes within the digital transformation, organisational change, and technology operations domains.

He has driven large-scale transformation like Barclays to Absa Ghana and held key CIO, COO, Chief Architect (Absa Africa) and Transformation Lead (Equity Group, Nairobi) roles, and is currently leading the rebuild of G-Money Financial Services.

Interacting with the media after receiving this all-important honour, Ebo expressed his profound gratitude to the Almighty for divine guidance and to his bosses for all opportunities given. He also thanked customers, partners, and vendors for their part in making such a recognition possible.

He especially singled out members of his team for their peerless commitment and tireless efforts to surmount challenges that would fox most. These contributions have positioned the business well for resounding and impactful success.

“First of all, I would like to thank God for His continued favour and guidance. Let me also appreciate my bosses for their support and guidance, and commend my team for their irrepressible spirit and massive commitment. I dedicate the award to the Board of G-Money, my colleagues, and my family for their unflinching support!”.

About the Awards event itself, he had this to say: “I commend the visionaries of the Ghana Executive Awards for such a progressive endeavour. To put in the requisite concerted effort to recognise leading professionals who put their best foot forward to push our country forward is worthy of recognition and appreciation”.

G-Money Financial Services is positioning itself as a leader and solution provider in digital financial services and a champion of financial inclusion.

The iconic Awards event was organised by Globe Productions and held at the Ghana’s premium five-star hotel, Labadi Beach Hotel. It is a prestigious initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievement of functional heads, along with their teams. The award scheme aims to highlight excellence in leadership, innovation, teamwork, and organisational impact, fostering a culture of contusion improvement and healthy competition among businesses in the country.
